Chatham's Greg Bienemann has been named the Washington &
Lee University Athlete of the Week. A 6-6, 210-pound freshman forward on the Generals' men's basketball, he tops
the squad in scoring with 128, averaging 11.6 points per game.
In a 89-78 loss to Guildofrd College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference confrontation played in Lexington,
VA, the former Cougar standout pumped a career-high 19 points through the iron and hauled down eight rebounds.
Bienemann had appeared in all 11 W & L games, starting five while logging 274 minutes on the hardwood. He has
connected on 53 of 94 field goal attempts, which is more impressive as he is only 1 for 12 from outside the three-point
arc. He has converted 21 of 32 free throw opportunities, grabbed 42 rebounds, dished off 16 assists, picked off
10 steals and blocked five shots.
At Chatham, he lettered in soccer, basketball and lacrosse. In basketball, he holds the Cougars career-scoring
mark with 1073 points and popped a single season high of 553 points through the twine last year when he led Morris
County in scoring. |
