| Dover scored twice in the opening half and defeated Hanover Park 2-1 in an
Iron Hills Conference – Hills Division boys soccer match that was played in East Hanover on Thursday afternoon.
The win elevated the Tigers record to 7-3-1. William Cardona and Jose Elias tallied the goals for the Tigers, both of which were unassisted. Keeper Oscar Martinez turned aside six shots on the goal to earn the "W" between the pipes. Mendham edged the Tigers 1-0 in another Hills Division match that was played Tuesday afternoon in Mendham. Martinez faced seven official shots on goal and came up with six saves. In an IHC – Hills Division girls’ soccer match played Thursday in Dover, the Tigers and Hanover Park battled to a scoreless draw after two overtime periods. Tracy Gleckler, a junior keeper, came up with five saves to register her first shutout. Dover’s record is 0-7-3. On Tuesday, Gleckler turned away eight shots on goal but the Tigers were blanked 4-0 by unbeaten Mendham in an IHC matchup. |
