Frosh duo paces Knolls to Iron Division crown

Lauren Gregory and Lauren Berard raced to a 1-2 finish in the weekly Iron Hills Conference cross country races contested at Freedom Park in Randolph on Tuesday. The duo's effort spurred Morris Knolls to a sweep of Morristown (21-34) and West Morris (15-46) that gave the Golden Eagles a repeat of the Iron Division crown as they posted a perfect 7-0 record. Competing in a field that included Hills Division teams from Dover, Mount Olive and Weequahic, Gregory broke the tape as she completed the 5,000-meter run in 19 minutes, 37 seconds while Berard was clocked in 19 minutes, 37 seconds. In the boys race, Trevor Rudge was the third runner overall to complete the 3.1-mile course as he turned in a time of 17 minutes, 21 seconds.
